Intermediaries inside ebusiness


Thanks to the technologies of
information, that are increasing the
position of the traditional intermediaries
and the appereance of the new
intermediary generation. Inside
ebusiness world we can find some
differents intermediares based in
internet:
- Directories, helps to the clients to find the products, giving structure menus to make it easy surfing the internet. Here, there are three kinds of directories:
1) General, like "Yahoo" that offers a big variety of websites, and they support a search of the catalog through "key words".
2) Companies, the index just offers catalogs of the companies, they can show info of a specific area, most of them about companies that have no website.
3) Specialized, they are as easy as a personal website created about one topic. The clients can find information about a good or a special manufacter.

- Service of search, is quite similar to "Altavista", and offer to the clients, the posibility of search through a key word about big date bases.

- Comercial centers, installations that offer datas to the manufacter or the retail for a fee. And they can have a big variety of shops that are selling numerous products.

- Editorials, are generators of traffic, giving information of interest for the clients, and they look like newspapers or interactive magazines. They became intermediaries when they offer links with the manufacters throught publicity.

- Virtual resellers, they are selling to the clients, directly the specialized items that they got from the manufacters.

- Advisor of websites, the clients can go directly to a manufactor through a site that is offering information, so reducing the risk.

- Auditors, they have similiar functions as the audience meter in the media world. The advertiser need information about the use of the valuation about the publicity in the website, and about the charasteristic of the clients.

- Forums, groups of clients, they are not directly intermediaries, but they have a important position, one of the best examples are the lists about prodcuts that link manufacturer with clients.

- Financial intermediary, any way of ecommerce have to give the facility to carry out or authorize payments from the buyer to the seller.

Paypal as payment method


Paypal is an important company inside the ebusiness that gives to the clients the facility to make payments and transfers of money without sharing the financial details with the destinatary, is a really safe way to send and recieve money. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances.

Paypal is a global leader in online payments, with more than 150M of accounts worldwide, and in 18 currencies, thanks to the possibility of doing it, from different locations, currencies, and languages.

It works really easy, with the chance of send and recieve money, free. The client has to choose the payment method ( Credit or debit card / paypal account / bank account ), then paypal does the operation without sharing the info, and the destinatary recieves a message from paypal about the money, and they have to create a paypal account to get the money and transfer it to a personal account.

Is safe, because it uses the technology of the SSL encryption, protecting all the confidential data, and paypal offers a protection programme, in which one, the buyer can ask for his money back or at least a %. It offers a max. of €1000 of protection for : item doesnt recieve it, item totally different in comparation of the item of the seller and unauthorise transactions in the paypal account.

International Tendencies

In some markets the ebusiness have had a really important growth, but in the great majority has not been significantly. As we saw before the most popular prodtucs are clothes, books, DVDs, tickets of flights.. One of the markets that is growing and is becaming important, is the e-tourism, for countries like Italy or Mexico, with a lot of webistes helping to this growth.

Based in a inform of the European Union, countries like Sweden, Denmark or Holland are the most active in online buys.
If we focus in the suppliers and the barriers, the problems that they can find are, problems with the language, higher delivery costs, higher risk in swindle, the tariff barriers,,
Comparing to 1998, when the clients did not buy a lot online, right now, is totally different, internet is the key, where the clients try to find low cost products, comparing characteristics, adventages, disadventages.
Forrester gives us the info about the €71billions of goods in 2008, in 17 countries of Occidental Europe, and the estimate for the 2014, is €123.1 billions, with a growth of 9.6% yearly.
To get to this amounts the confidence is the key, if the companies still building the confidence, the eCommerce is going to achieve it. Always taking care about the cient complaints, because it has been growing in the last years. The problems usually are the no conformity and the no reception of the product. In Europe Union in 2008, eBusiness, was the one which recieved more complaints, and the most important reason was the problems with the shipment.

eBay leading eBusiness



Ebay is one of the most important plataforms talking about eBusiness, it give us the facility of buy and sell products to individuals or companies, where we can find the amount of 1.8 M of clients, thanks to the cheap cost of creating a shop, that is between €4.95 and €49.95, depending of the choice.

So according to Nielsen, that is a global index, the conclusion in global level is that people buy products in internet based on the confidence, so if the experience of the first buy is satisfactory, will be quite easier to get the loyability and the money. The 25% of the clients decide to buy because of friend/family recommendation. Specially in Spain, the 88% of internet users say that they have bought at least one time any product on internet in the last month, being the flight tickets the top buy. After that, dresses, shoes and accesories, informatic software, books, hardware, music, DVD's, videogames.. Talking about payment methods, the 25% use paypal, but most common method use is credit card.

All you need to know about me.

I am a 22 spanish guy years old, who likes the eBusiness world. I studied in the University of Leon ( Spain) and I spent one year abroad, as an erasmus student, in the National University of Ireland, that helped me to realize which way i would like to take after finish my degree. And right now, im working in the eBusiness as a journalist, like im going to show in this blog, discussing about comtemporany ebusiness, and give my point of view about some topics in this incredible world that all of you will discover.
